The design from the Sultan Han in Kayseri, Turkey is unusual because it is largely composed of "awkward" tiles (rhombi, pentagons, and octagons) that most designers avoided due to layout restrictions caused by their 108° angles. Additionally, the artist departed from the standard tiling pattern by filling the large star-shaped gaps with a regular 10/4 star motif.
