A spandrel from the Darb-i Imam shrine, Isfahan: a large ten-fold girih with a smaller copy of the same geometry nested inside it. Once hailed as a medieval quasicrystal, it's now read as something plainer and still remarkable: one pattern, drawn at two scales, fitted by hand.
